Bond yields fell after Treasury announced bigger longer-dated buybacks
WSJ Markets reports that bond yields declined after the U.S. Treasury said it would step up buybacks of longer-dated bonds.
The Treasury department announced it would buy back more of those maturities, a move that helped push yields lower.
The update ties the move in rates directly to the government bond purchase plan for longer-dated Treasuries.
