Bonds and MBS start slightly weaker ahead of a 3-day weekend
Mortgage-backed securities are trading roughly in line with Wednesday's close, while Treasuries are slightly stronger, according to Mortgage News Daily.
Mortgage News Daily said bonds are opening slightly weaker on Friday, a setup the outlet ties to typical “sidelines” behavior from some investors before a 3-day weekend.
The outlet noted that MBS are roughly in line with Wednesday’s close, while Treasuries are performing better than their Wednesday levels.
Mortgage News Daily added that it would be a “victory” to end the day around current levels, and that any deterioration could be tolerated if it does not worsen materially.
