Grayscale Zcash ETF filing discloses DCG talks for 200,000 ZEC
The SEC amendment says DCG subsidiary discussions to acquire about 200,000 ZEC are nonbinding, with the potential value cited at roughly $110 million at current prices.
Grayscale’s latest SEC amendment for its proposed Zcash exchange-traded fund shows that a Digital Currency Group subsidiary is in talks to acquire about 200,000 ZEC through the trust. The Block reports that the filing notes the discussions are not a binding commitment, meaning a potential investor could choose to buy more, fewer, or no shares.
The amendment also outlines Grayscale’s plan to rename the Grayscale Zcash Trust (ZCSH) and list its shares on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH. According to the filing, DCG International Investments Ltd. would acquire the roughly 200,000 ZEC tokens, cited as about $110 million at current prices.
The filing further describes Zcash network developments, including a June Orchard vulnerability and a subsequent Ironwood upgrade. The Block says the upgrade retired the affected shielded pool and introduced safeguards designed to prevent counterfeit ZEC.
Grayscale’s broader push includes bringing other crypto products to market, The Block adds, including a staked Avalanche fund and an ETF for Hyperliquid. The amendment arrives as spot ZEC ETF volumes, after peaking in November 2025, have largely plateaued during the year.
