Maya Protocol said it halted activity after an attacker exploited six software flaws in the cross-chain protocol, draining Bitcoin and other assets.

Decrypt reports the incident resulted in about $1.4 million stolen in connection with the exploit, and the protocol subsequently stopped operations.

Following the theft, the protocol also disclosed that its CACAO token fell sharply, reflecting market reaction to the hack.
