Trump signals momentum for Clarity Act after Oval Office crypto meeting
The Oval Office discussion also included a strategic bitcoin reserve, with no details provided on next steps, as a Senate procedural vote is set for Sept. 15.
President Donald Trump appeared bullish on getting the Clarity Act passed after inviting crypto and traditional finance executives into the Oval Office, according to The Block.
The meeting followed a Wednesday press conference where Trump said regulators are working to onshore Hyperliquid and called for a fair version of the Clarity Act to advance. The Block reported that a number of senior executives attended the earlier press event, and said it is not clear who was in the Oval Office meeting.
Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said the discussion focused on soliciting basic feedback on the bill, and he described the session as productive. Nazarov also said that a strategic bitcoin reserve was raised during the meeting, but there were no details on what comes next.
The Block said the Clarity Act has been the subject of Senate efforts over the past year to create the first federal regulatory framework for the crypto industry, and noted that a first procedural vote is scheduled for Sept. 15.
