Alliant hires Denver Health veteran for employee benefits team

The appointment supports Alliant's Rocky Mountain benefits build-out as employers forecast 6.7% to 9.0% health cost increases for 2026.

Alliant Insurance Services has appointed Rebecca Ellis as assistant vice president in its employee benefits group in Denver, adding a healthcare HR and brokerage consulting background to the firm's Rocky Mountain team, according to Insurance Business.

Ellis will partner with employers across the western region on benefits strategy and total rewards program design. She previously spent more than five years at Aon as vice president for the Mountain States region, before earlier roles at Mercer and as human resources director at Denver Health, the city's public safety net hospital system.

The hire is part of Alliant's sustained expansion of its Rocky Mountain employee benefits practice, following additions in 2024 and 2025 including Chris Mast as senior vice president and Rachel McCarter as vice president in Denver. Alliant president of employee benefits Kevin Overbey said Ellis brings practical solutions intended to improve program efficiency while maintaining a positive employee experience.

The staffing move comes as brokers compete for consultants with operational healthcare backgrounds, Insurance Business noted. Employers are projecting health cost increases of between 6.7% and 9.0% in 2026, and Alliant reported $5.72 billion in brokerage revenue in 2025, as employee benefits remains a top acquisition target in 2026 with deals trading at 9 to 12 times EBITDA, according to CT Acquisiti.
