Beetaloo shale basin in Australia set to start gas production next month
Planned initial output is about 37 million cubic meters of gas, with the project aiming to mirror the U.S. shale gas model.
Australia’s Beetaloo shale basin in the Northern Territory is expected to begin producing gas next month, with first flow scheduled for that period, according to OilPrice citing Reuters.
Initial production is expected to reach about 37 million cubic meters, as the project looks to replicate aspects of the U.S. shale gas success story.
The basin is estimated to hold around 500 trillion cubic feet of gas and has been compared to the Marcellus shale basin in the United States.
