U.S. says it helped move 660 million barrels through Hormuz since May
The U.S. military said it assisted since May to keep tanker traffic flowing through a contested choke point in the Strait of Hormuz.
CNBC Markets reports that the U.S. military said it had aided the passage of 660 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz since May.
While the security situation in the strait remains contested, the outlet says the U.S. is helping ensure oil shipments can transit the waterway.
The report frames the assistance as part of ongoing efforts to support tanker movement through the Hormuz chokepoint.
