Whole Foods leases 9,000 sq ft at 509 Third Avenue for daily shop
The 15-year lease covers ground-floor space and outdoor terraces at the Murray, a 35-story, 229-unit apartment tower.
Whole Foods Market has leased a 9,000-square-foot retail space at 509 Third Avenue in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood, Commercial Observer reports.
The 15-year deal places the store on the building’s ground floor and includes outdoor terraces, according to a memorandum of lease filed in city records.
The Murray, a 35-story, 229-unit apartment tower, was developed by Kahen Properties with Lalezarian Properties. Whole Foods confirmed the lease by email but declined to share additional details.
The new store will use the Whole Foods Market Daily Shop format, which offers grab-and-go meals and fresh produce, and the format had previously rolled out in Lenox Hill in 2024. The memorandum did not disclose the asking rent, though nearby Herald Square retail space averaged $394 per square foot in the second quarter of 2026, based on CBRE data.
