Bitcoin rallies as markets reprice the Fed path and liquidity

Digital asset investment products pulled in $2.2B for the week, including about $1.6B into Bitcoin ETFs, the strongest weekly total of 2026.

A weekly Bitcoin move appears to be driven more by interest rate expectations than by any crypto-specific catalyst, according to ETF Trends, citing CoinShares’ Research. The minutes from the most recent FOMC meeting showed a more divided and restrictive committee than the decision it published, while subsequent data helped markets cut their expected policy path.

ETF Trends also links Bitcoin’s sensitivity to liquidity expectations and real yields to the broader bond market shift. The front end rallied as investors moved away from the idea of another Fed hike, while the 30-year yield moved in a way the outlet interprets as reflecting fiscal concern rather than monetary expectations.

The outlet points to an enlarged Treasury buyback program as a key variable in the rates complex, saying the market may be reading it as yield suppression even though it does not remove the underlying drivers. It also flags a potential tradeoff: capping long yields may ease conditions, while the program could be funded nearer the front end and affect how quickly interest costs reprice across the curve.

On positioning, ETF Trends says the largest Bitcoin wallets have stopped distributing and resumed buying, supporting price action without signaling a sustained break higher yet. It notes that digital asset investment products across all issuers drew $2.2B this week, with about $1.6B directed into Bitcoin ETFs, and adds that investors are treating current exposure as responsive to rates and duration inputs rather than internal crypto factors.
