Drone strikes hit shopping centre in central Ukraine, killing 16

Authorities in Kryvyi Rih said more than 130 people were wounded, including 22 children, and nine were preliminarily reported missing.

At least 16 people were killed and more than 130 were wounded after several Russian drones struck a shopping centre in central Ukraine on Friday, according to authorities cited by SCMP Economy. The regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the daytime attack in Kryvyi Rih, Zelensky’s hometown, left 22 children among those wounded. He also said 29 people were in serious condition, including five children. Hanzha reported that rescuers were continuing to clear rubble early Saturday, and said nine people were preliminarily considered missing, including two children. In photos posted by the governor, black smoke billowed from a large industrial building.
