Turkey seeks Interpol red notice for Netanyahu over Gaza flotilla

The move follows Israel’s interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in May that Turkey says helped spur international judicial proceedings.

Turkey has requested an Interpol red notice and an international arrest warrant for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of genocide tied to Israel’s interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, Turkey’s justice minister said.

According to Agence France-Presse, Turkey’s Justice Ministry asked the interior ministry to issue red notices for Netanyahu and another Israeli, Afek Moskovitch, citing arrest warrants previously issued on July 14, 2026.

Turkey said the case relates to judicial proceedings concerning an attack in international waters involving flotilla activists, after Israel intercepted the flotilla carrying some 430 activists in May and sparked an international outcry.

The outlet reported that France, Italy, and Australia have also launched judicial proceedings, and Turkey said Netanyahu and Moskovitch are being prosecuted for multiple charges including crimes against humanity and aggravated deprivation of liberty.
