Eric Trump denies claim of imminent Trump-linked coin launch
TRUMP jumped 37.9% over 24 hours, while a separate, unverified claim pointed to 290 ETH moving on Robinhood Chain without naming a wallet or contract address.
Eric Trump denied circulating claims that a new Trump-linked coin would be launched on Saturday, calling contrary reports fraudulent. In a post on his Blue-checkmarked X account, he said, “No one is launching any kind of coin,” adding that if anyone is suggesting otherwise, it is a fraud.
The denial followed social posts that did not cite an official announcement. One message published at 2:39 p.m. ET claimed, “DONALD TRUMP IS OFFICIALLY ABOUT TO LAUNCH HIS NEW COIN,” but it did not identify a ticker or contract address. Another post at 3:03 p.m. ET alleged a Robinhood Chain wallet received 290 ETH and interacted with “Truth Coin” contracts, but it also did not provide a wallet address or show who controlled the wallet.
Market data showed large moves in existing Trump-related tokens during the period the launch claim circulated. CoinGecko listed TRUMP at $2.47, up 37.9% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of $1.79 to $3.60, while MELANIA was at $0.1112, up 18.4% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of $0.09085 to $0.1614.
The report said the posts contained the substance of the circulating claims, an imminent coin launch and unexplained contract activity, but did not include any confirmed announcement from Eric Trump, Robinhood, or a named token issuer. Eric Trump’s direct statement focused on rejecting the launch claim, without addressing a specific token or contract.
