Expat retirees may boost Hong Kong luxury home demand, analysts say

Habitat Property founder Victoria Allan said about 30.0% of the firm’s recent sales came from expat clients.

Hong Kong is expected to see more demand for premium homes as expat retirees increasingly choose the city as a long term base, with analysts pointing to the area’s low tax environment as well as business opportunities.

SCMP Economy reported that Victoria Allan, founder and CEO of Habitat Property, said the return of expats who had previously lived in Hong Kong is being driven by retirement plans, and that a large share of the company’s recent transactions has come from expatriate buyers.

Allan said around 30.0% of Habitat’s recent sales were contributed by expat clients, highlighting how wealthier overseas residents are influencing the luxury segment.
