TG Therapeutics shares surge on unconfirmed takeover speculation
The stock was up about 85% versus the start of this year, while BRIUMVI U.S. revenue reached $227.7 million in Q2 and the firm raised its 2026 revenue target to about $950 million.
TG Therapeutics shares jumped sharply on Aug. 21 as market chatter suggested the U.S. biotech could be a takeover target, following an “uncooked” alert from Betaville. Yahoo Finance said the alert pointed to possible interest in the company without naming a potential buyer, and noted there has been no confirmation from TG Therapeutics about takeover discussions.
After Friday’s rally, TG Therapeutics stock was up about 85% compared with the start of the year. The outlet cautioned that takeover rumors can lift biotech shares on expectations of an acquisition premium, but the gains may unwind quickly if speculation is denied or no deal materializes.
Underlying the rumor, Yahoo Finance highlighted reported fundamentals tied to TG Therapeutics’ BRIUMVI therapy. In Q2, U.S. revenue for BRIUMVI was $227.7 million, up 64% year over year, and the company raised its 2026 revenue target to about $950 million.
The report said management cited BRIUMVI’s rapidly growing sales when lifting guidance, while also indicating the company remains profitable and continues to invest in commercial and pipeline opportunities. It also emphasized that investors should separate operating performance from an unconfirmed buyout thesis until a suitor emerges or the company confirms discussions.
