Ukrainian drones kill at least 10 in attacks across Russia and Ukraine
The strikes included an Ozon warehouse in Russia where work at a logistics center was halted, while Ukraine’s military said it hit a city oil refinery that sparked a fire.
Ukrainian drone attacks across Russia and Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine killed at least 10 people, Russian officials said, with targets including a warehouse owned by Ozon and an industrial facility.
The report said Russia and Ukraine are escalating drone campaigns aimed at undermining each other’s economic infrastructure, with attacks often reaching beyond front-line areas as the fighting moves toward the four-and-a-half-year mark.
In central Ukraine, Russian drones struck a shopping centre on Friday, killing at least 16 people and wounding more than 130, according to the article. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine’s strikes had opened what he called a “Pandora’s box” of retaliation, while Kyiv says it is seeking to choke off financing for Moscow’s war effort.
Ozon, Russia’s second-largest online retailer, said the strike on its Samara region logistics center in Chapayevsk halted work and caused injuries, while Ukraine’s military said it struck a city oil refinery, causing a fire. Separately, French President Emmanuel Macron said he would accelerate delivery of new French equipment to Ukraine after discussing air defence shortfalls with Volodymyr Zelensky.
