Gold’s rebound lifts WisdomTree’s Efficient Gold Plus Equity Strategy Fund
Gold was on pace for a 14% monthly gain as of Aug. 21, and the fund GDE was up nearly 15% for the month ending that date.
Gold futures were on pace for a monthly gain of 14% as of late August 21, a move the article frames as gold’s strongest monthly performance in 27 years. The WisdomTree Efficient Gold Plus Equity Strategy Fund, ticker GDE, was higher by nearly 15% for the month ending August 21, signaling investor appetite for the rebound in bullion.
ETF Trends attributed the setup to several drivers, including a faster than expected move toward Morgan Stanley’s $4,450 per troy ounce bullion forecast. Morgan Stanley analyst Amy Gower said there is a path to more than $5,000 per ounce in 2027, while also warning of volatility.
The outlet also linked renewed gold ETF interest to expectations the Federal Reserve will not raise interest rates this year. Morgan Stanley expects the central bank to stay on hold for the remainder of 2026.
ETF Trends added that gold’s rally has come alongside rising Treasury yields, with the piece citing Morgan Stanley’s view that gold is pricing fiscal concerns tied to higher yields rather than reacting only to the yield level itself. The article also noted that gold and GDE rallied last week after the Treasury Department announced significant additions to its long term bond buyback program.
