New Zealand retail sales fall in Q2, NZD little changed

New Zealand retail sales dropped 0.5% quarter over quarter in Q2, compared with a forecast for growth.

New Zealand’s retail sales weakened in the second quarter, with retail sales ex inflation down 0.5% quarter over quarter against an expected rise.

On an annual basis, retail sales increased 3.3% year over year in Q2, following 4.5% growth in the prior period.

After the data release, the New Zealand dollar was little changed around 0.5973, according to Forexlive.
