Strive buys 1,110 Bitcoin for about $81.5 million

The latest purchase, made between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21, brought Strive total holdings to 21,356 BTC at an average cost of $73,409 per coin, including fees and expenses.

Strive, the Nasdaq-traded Bitcoin treasury company, said it bought 1,110 Bitcoin for about $81.5 million last week, lifting its total holdings to 21,356 BTC, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission reported by Cointelegraph.

Strive paid an average of $73,409 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses, for purchases made between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21. Over the same period, the company said its cash and cash equivalents rose by $17.1 million to $171.9 million, while Class A shares outstanding increased by 3.65 million to 79.89 million.

The purchase also pushed Strive to the seventh-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, based on data cited from BitcoinTreasuries.NET. Cointelegraph further reported that Strive shares, traded under ASST, were up more than 11% in Monday morning trading.

Strive described the strategy through its CEO, Matt Cole, who said on X that the opportunity is not only Bitcoin price upside, but Bitcoin becoming a scarcer asset within what he called an expanding trade, with ASST structured to amplify that outcome. Cointelegraph added that Strive runs a Bitcoin treasury strategy alongside an asset management business managing nearly $3 billion across exchange-traded funds and a direct-indexing platform.
