Coinbase launches tokenized stocks on Ethereum L2 Base
The tokenized shares represent holdings kept by regulated custodian Alpaca, and they are tradable on Base.
Coinbase has introduced tokenized stocks on Ethereum L2 Base, using tokens that correspond to shares held by a regulated custodian, Alpaca, according to Decrypt.
The tokens are designed to be traded on Base and also used in decentralized finance applications, expanding how traditional equity exposure can be used within crypto-native infrastructure, Decrypt reported.
