Germany Ifo business climate rises in August as recovery broadens
The Ifo Current Situation and Expectations subindexes both increased, and the survey noted companies were more satisfied with current conditions alongside reduced uncertainty.
Germany’s Ifo Business Climate Index rose to 88.8 in August from 86.7, extending a sharp rebound in corporate sentiment, according to data cited by Action Forex.
The Ifo Current Situation component improved to 88.5 from 86.5, while Expectations climbed to 89.1 from 86.8, reflecting stronger views on both present conditions and the outlook.
Ifo said companies reported greater satisfaction with current conditions, upgraded their outlook, and saw uncertainty decline, even as energy remained a factor behind the survey comments.
