LayerZero launches ATLAS trading and settlement engine on its Zero chain
LayerZero said ATLAS will support trading around the clock and route trading fees to its ZRO token via a buy-and-burn mechanism.
LayerZero introduced ATLAS, a trading and settlement engine built on its Zero blockchain, positioning it as a shared backend for crypto-native platforms and institutions. The system is designed to combine trade matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management in one place.
According to CoinDesk, ATLAS is intended to power markets that operate continuously, including spot crypto and perpetual futures, and potentially traditional assets such as stocks, bonds, commodities, and prediction markets. LayerZero said existing market infrastructure is not built for assets that can trade around the clock.
CoinDesk reported that LayerZero is linking the rollout to its ZRO token, with trading fees feeding into ZRO through a buy-and-burn mechanism. On the announcement, ZRO rose roughly 30% to about $1.0684 during the session.
LayerZero’s effort also builds on prior partnerships, with the firm having worked with financial heavyweights including DTCC, ICE, and Citadel Securities. CoinDesk said the launch broadens LayerZero’s focus beyond interoperability and into the core infrastructure where assets trade.
