SEC docket documents describe a proposed GTA VI in-game currency
The filings also lay out restrictions on player transfers and a possible Solana token architecture, but stop short of confirming any completed deployment or official token controls.
Two public-comment PDFs posted to a US Securities and Exchange Commission docket describe a proposed Grand Theft Auto VI in-game currency called Sharkbux and explore a possible implementation on Solana, according to CryptoSlate.
The documents carry Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games branding, but corporate authorization of the submissions remains unresolved. The outlet notes that at most, the PDFs appear to place an unauthenticated proposal into the public record, leaving any Rockstar crypto plan for GTA VI unproven.
One PDF dated Aug. 18 says ordinary players would not be able to freely transfer Sharkbux. Instead, transfers would be limited to company-mediated mechanisms, while approved creators could redeem earned units through a separate company-controlled program.
A supplemental PDF dated Aug. 24 discusses a potential Solana SPL-token architecture, but identifies no official token mint, mint authority, freeze authority, transfer-control program, or completed deployment. On Aug. 25, Solscan showed the named wallet holding 600,000 units of a newly created TAKE2 token tagged as “Meme” and “Pump.fun,” with no public label authenticating a Take-Two connection, CryptoSlate reports.
Take-Two’s Aug. 7 earnings release and Rockstar’s GTA VI product page confirm a Nov. 19, 2026 release date on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and neither source discloses Sharkbux or a Solana integration, the outlet added.
