Trump bought SpaceX shares in June, disclosure shows

The purchase on June 23 was part of more than 1,000 stock trades in June, according to the financial disclosure later made public.

U.S. President Donald Trump bought SpaceX shares in June, with the investment valued in a public financial disclosure at between $15,001 and $50,000 for a purchase dated June 23, LiveMint Markets reported. The disclosure was signed on August 12 and made public on August 22.

The report said the share purchase was one of more than 1,000 stock trades Trump made during June, and it noted that SpaceX is a U.S. military contractor that often seeks approvals from federal agencies.

LiveMint Markets added that Trump directed his team to help drastically increase the number of U.S. commercial space launches, and that SpaceX is a dominant player in that market. The article also referenced a statement that neither Trump nor his family can direct or influence how the portfolio is invested or when trades are made.

The outlet said it could not determine the precise amount of Trump’s SpaceX investment because federal financial disclosure forms use value ranges to report asset holdings.
