China pushes multilateral cooperation and rules-based stability
Foreign Minister Wang Yi told more than 50 foreign ministers in Myanmar that Beijing wants an approach rooted in international legal order and win-win solutions.
China is increasingly presenting itself as an advocate for multilateral cooperation and rules-based stability as Washington moves away from the international order it helped build, according to SCMP Economy.
In remarks in Myanmar in 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized a multilateral, cooperative approach to shared global challenges, after addressing more than 50 foreign ministers.
SCMP Economy says Beijing frames its position as support for the existing international legal order and “win-win” solutions, while contrasting it with the idea that the current order is being defined by domination.
