SPX Capital exits Singapore staff as it reshapes international business
The departures include two senior portfolio managers and a trader, while SPX Capital said it managed more than $9 billion as of June 30.
Brazilian hedge fund SPX Capital has lost multiple key staff members in Singapore as the firm continues a broader restructuring of its international operations, according to Hedgeweek, citing regulatory filings.
The filings show that Predee Anuvatnujotikul and Garret Mallal, senior portfolio managers in Singapore, ceased to be associated with SPX Capital Management Singapore in June and August, respectively.
Hedgeweek also reports that trader Soh Yang Yao left earlier this year and has since joined rival Marshall Wace, while William Bethlem relocated to New York and is no longer listed for the Singapore entity.
The report says SPX is also reviewing its international business, with long-serving managers exiting in recent months and its London operation reportedly being wound down. SPX managed more than $9 billion as of June 30, after having grown previously to around $15.5 billion.
