NexGen adds a fifth drill rig at Saskatchewan uranium project
NexGen said hole RK-26-293 returned 4.7 metres of high-grade readings, including 0.1 metres above 61,000 counts per second.
NexGen Energy says it will expand its drilling program at Patterson Corridor East (PCE) in Saskatchewan by adding a fifth drill rig after new results showed continuous high-grade uranium mineralization.
The company highlighted hole RK-26-293, which returned 4.7 metres measuring more than 10,000 counts per second, including 0.1 metres of more than 61,000 cps. It also cited other holes of interest, including RK-26-290c1 with 19.5 metres of more than 10,000 cps and RK-26-294 with 6.9 metres of more than 10,000 cps, including 3.1 metres above 61,000 cps, and said the mineralization remains open in most directions.
NexGen Vice President of Exploration Jason Craven said growth of the high-grade subdomain is exceeding expectations, with mineralization still open. The update came as shares rose briefly in Toronto Wednesday before easing back to around the prior close, according to Mining.com.
The miner said it has completed 20,138.7 metres of its planned 42,000 metre program, with samples continuously submitted to the Saskatchewan Research Council Geoanalytical Laboratory, and that results are expected soon. Separately, NexGen said it is continuing construction of its Rook I project at the arrow deposit about 3.5 km west of PCE.
