Supreme Court leaves a path for Trump to try again to remove Fed Gov Lisa Cook

CNBC Markets reports that the Supreme Court’s late-June decision blocked former President Donald Trump from firing Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, but did not end the president’s ability to pursue another attempt.

According to CNBC World, Cook’s lawyer responded to Trump’s renewed threat to remove her, arguing against the effort while acknowledging the ruling left a procedural path to try again.

The dispute centers on whether and how Trump can remove Cook from the Federal Reserve after the Supreme Court intervened earlier in the process, according to the reports.
