BitGo completes acquisition of NYDIG institutional trading unit
The deal brings about 30 NYDIG employees and their institutional trading relationships into BitGo and is aimed at expanding derivatives and financing on its institutional markets platform.
BitGo has completed its acquisition of NYDIG's institutional trading business and related assets, positioning the move as an expansion of its digital asset infrastructure services, according to The Block.
The acquired unit is expected to help BitGo broaden its institutional markets platform by adding derivatives offerings and enhancing financing capabilities. BitGo said the transaction is designed to support institutions across a digital asset lifecycle, including custody, trading, financing, and settlement.
The Block reports that the deal also transferred around 30 NYDIG employees to BitGo along with their institutional trading relationships. NYDIG plans to direct its resources toward bitcoin mining, power generation, and a high performance computing data center development business.
