Iran links Hormuz reopening to ending regional wars

CNBC Markets reports that Iran is tying the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to steps it says must end wider regional conflicts.

In its stated conditions, Iran argues that the conflict in the Gaza Strip must end, Israel must withdraw from Lebanon, and Israel must stop its attacks on Syria, according to CNBC World’s account of Iran’s position.

The outlet also notes that Trump is reportedly rejecting a return to a prior June deal, framing the decision as relevant to the prospects for Hormuz reopening.
