Ledger says patched vulnerability, not hack, exposed Ethereum app flaw

Decrypt reports OneKey showed how a vulnerable Ethereum app could sign a different transaction than the one displayed, but Ledger says the issue was fixed before any exploit.

Ledger denies that it was hacked in connection with claims about a vulnerable Ethereum application, saying the problem was addressed ahead of any exploitation.

According to Decrypt, OneKey demonstrated that an outdated Ethereum app could produce a signed transaction that differed from what appeared on the Ledger device’s display.

Ledger’s response, as described by Decrypt, is that the vulnerability had already been patched by the time the exploit scenario was later publicized.

The dispute centers on how transaction signing might be affected in specific wallet software versions, rather than on a broader unauthorized access to Ledger itself, Decrypt reported.
