Active Re joins BIBA to deepen its reinsurance presence in Barbados
Active Re expects the BIBA membership to provide additional access to industry discussions via working committees, including its Insurance Committee.
Barbados-based reinsurer Active Capital Reinsurance, Ltd., known as Active Re, has joined BIBA, the private sector trade organization that represents more than 130 firms engaged in global business in Barbados.
The company said the move reinforces its commitment to take part in industry dialogue around regulation, market development, and the international business environment, including in the wider Caribbean market.
Active Re also expects the membership to create opportunities to engage with BIBA specialist working committees, including its Insurance Committee, and to exchange ideas with insurers, brokers, financial institutions, regulators, and other market participants.
According to a statement from Active Re Chief Operating Officer Robert Ali, the reinsurer views proximity to a market as more than a commercial footprint, emphasizing staying connected to how the regulatory and business environment is evolving.
