Citadel Securities posts record $7.3bn trading revenue in Q2
Q2 trading revenue for Citadel Securities more than tripled year over year, lifting net income by over 250% to $3.3bn.
Citadel Securities posted record quarterly trading revenue of $7.3 billion in the second quarter, as market volatility created favorable conditions for electronic market makers, according to a Bloomberg-cited account of the results shared with an unnamed person familiar with them, via Hedgeweek.
The report says Citadel Securities’ quarterly trading revenue more than tripled from a year earlier, and net income jumped more than 250% to $3.3 billion.
Hedgeweek also notes that other quantitative trading firms reported strong results in 2025 amid the same environment, including Hudson River Trading, which generated $11.4 billion in second-quarter trading revenue.
Jane Street generated more than $40 billion in net trading revenue by mid-August, despite an estimated $15 billion loss in July, and that amount already surpassed the firm’s full-year 2025 revenue of $39.6 billion.
