Dunamu and Visa partner to explore stablecoin and AI financial services
The partnership will also review potential future use of Open Standard’s Open USD, a dollar backed stablecoin launched in June and supported by more than 140 institutions.
Dunamu, the parent company of South Korean crypto exchange Upbit, has signed a strategic partnership with Visa to explore launching stablecoin and AI based financial services, according to The Block. The effort is intended to combine Dunamu digital asset technology with Visa’s global payments network.
The companies plan to explore stablecoin based payments, cross border remittances, and AI driven finance, with an emphasis on safer, more transparent and interoperable digital asset use aligned with regulations. Visa and Dunamu also said they plan to link stablecoins to existing global payments infrastructure.
For the AI component, Dunamu and Visa will jointly explore agentic commerce, where an AI agent searches for goods or services and completes purchase and payment on a user’s behalf. Dunamu CEO Oh Kyung-seok said the deal aims to connect digital assets with existing finance to create new global experiences.
Dunamu also flagged that the partnership will explore potential usage of Open Standard’s Open USD (OUSD) in future collaborations. OUSD was launched in June and gained support from over 140 global institutions, including Visa, Mastercard, and Google.
