IBIT linked JPMorgan note misses 2026 call trigger after $44.46 close

IBIT’s Aug. 26 close at $44.46 was below the $63.69 level needed to trigger an early call on a JPMorgan structured note issued in August 2025.

JPMorgan’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF-linked structured note tied to IBIT did not get called on its Aug. 26, 2026 observation date, after IBIT closed at $44.46, according to CryptoSlate. The note is bank debt linked to IBIT performance, and the call depended on IBIT closing at or above its starting price on that date.

The report says the starting price threshold for the 2026 call was $63.69. Because the published, unadjusted IBIT close of $44.46 did not meet that condition, the securities were not called and instead remained on a path toward their August 2028 maturity, the outlet added.

CryptoSlate also noted the note pays no periodic interest and was issued in August 2025 at $1,000 per security. It says a successful one-year call would have returned $1,210 per security, but that payment was not available after the missed trigger.

The next binding price test comes on Aug. 21, 2028, with the final payout depending on whether IBIT finishes above $63.69, between $47.7675 and $63.69, or below $47.7675. The payoff rules mean investors kept an unsecured obligation of JPMorgan Chase Financial Company LLC, guaranteed by JPMorgan Chase & Co., rather than receiving the early call proceeds based on the 2026 observation.
