VIX slides to year-to-date low as S&P 500 options calm
The Cboe Volatility Index, a gauge of 30-day S&P 500 options pricing, fell to 14.1 at its lowest point.
CNBC Markets reports that traders have warmed to the market backdrop as volatility expectations eased, with the Cboe Volatility Index, or VIX, falling to a year-to-date low.
The VIX, which measures the implied pricing of 30-day options on the S&P 500 Index, dipped to as low as 14.1 during the session.
