Metaplanet transfers 4,800 BTC to Coinbase Prime

The week of Coinbase Prime deposits totaled 10,270 BTC, worth about $806.3 million, which could imply a reduction of Metaplanet’s holdings by more than 29% if those transfers are sales.

Cointelegraph reports that Metaplanet, a Japanese corporate Bitcoin treasury company, transferred 4,800 BTC worth nearly $377 million to Coinbase Prime on Aug. 31, 2026.

According to Arkham Intelligence data cited by Cointelegraph, the Coinbase Prime move followed earlier transfers this week, including 2,000 BTC worth $155.5 million sent two days prior, and additional transfers over the preceding days totaling 3,331 BTC worth nearly $266 million, plus a separate 139 BTC transfer worth $11.1 million from six days ago.

In total, Cointelegraph says those deposits amounted to 10,270 BTC worth approximately $806.3 million over the week. It also notes Metaplanet holds 35,102 BTC worth $2.75 billion in its reported coffers, so if the transfers are confirmed as sales, the holdings would decline by more than 29%.

Cointelegraph adds that the report comes as the broader corporate treasury trend shows some firms selling holdings while others accumulate, including news that French treasury company Capital B raised €21.0 million, or $24.5 million, to acquire 270 BTC.
