China AI ETF highlights leveraged exposure to CSI Overseas China Internet Index
The Direxion Daily CSI China Internet Index Bull 2x Shares seeks 200% of the CSI Overseas China Internet Index’s daily move, while the index’s top holdings include Tencent, PDD, Alibaba, NetEase, and Baidu.
ETF Trends points to the Direxion Daily CSI China Internet Index Bull 2x Shares (CWEB) as a trading vehicle tied to China’s AI push through exposure to the CSI Overseas China Internet Index.
CWEB targets 200% of the daily performance of that index. The ETF’s linkage is tied to the index’s mix of companies moving from pure-play internet businesses toward AI infrastructure and cloud computing.
ETF Trends notes that China’s largest internet platforms are reallocating capital at scale, shifting investment away from consumer-facing segments toward AI buildout. It also highlights that this transition is unfolding at different speeds across companies, contributing to divergence in cash flow profiles, valuations, and risk levels.
The outlet further says the index includes Tencent Holdings, PDD Holdings, Alibaba, NetEase, and Baidu among its top holdings, which collectively make up more than 37% of the gauge’s weight. ETF Trends also flags that traders should monitor how these firms fund AI spending, including upfront costs for data centers, GPU clusters, and AI model development.
