Nibulon installs solar power plants at three more grain elevators

The new ground-mounted projects bring solar-equipped facilities to five Nibulon elevator complexes, covering as much as 50% of each site’s electricity needs depending on operating mode.

Nibulon, one of Ukraine’s largest grain exporters, has equipped three additional grain elevator facilities with ground-mounted solar power plants, as part of its sustainability and energy strategy, World Grain reports.

The Bessarabska, Zolotoniska, and Denykhivska branches are now fitted with grid-connected solar systems, each designed to cover between 25% and 50% of an elevator’s electricity demand depending on operating mode.

With the latest installations, five of Nibulon’s elevator complexes, or more than 20% of its elevator facilities, now use solar power, and Nibulon says it can feed surplus electricity into the regional distribution grid.

Each plant has photovoltaic capacity of up to 350 kW and uses modern HUAWEI inverters, while also being paired with controls that allow operations when grid power is unavailable using a diesel generator, the outlet added.
