Supreme Court allows Trump White House ballroom work to continue
The court backed the administration’s request to pause a lower court order that sought to halt much of the project while the legal challenge proceeds.
The US Supreme Court allowed Donald Trump’s administration to continue construction of a White House ballroom complex while the president challenges a judicial order that would have halted much of the development, according to CNBC Markets.
In a 5-4 decision on Monday, Chief Justice John Roberts dissented, warning that the construction was likely unlawful, the outlet reported.
SCMP Economy said the justices granted the administration’s request to block a lower court order that would have stopped the project during the ongoing litigation.
