Lemonade expands renters insurance to Kansas with plans from $5 a month

Lemonade said about 40% of renters claims are handled instantly, and its Kansas renters rates are about 30% below the national average.

Lemonade has expanded its renters insurance offering to Kansas, with policies starting at $5 a month, the company said. Kansas customers can quote, buy, manage policies, and file claims through the Lemonade app.

The digital insurer said it handles about 40% of renters claims instantly. Lemonade also put Kansas renters rates at about 30% below the national average, based on company and industry data.

Lemonade said customers may qualify for additional savings by bundling policies, using qualifying home-safety devices, or choosing annual billing. The launch further extends a broader renters footprint that is also available in 44 states plus Washington, DC.

The company added that it continues to offer home, auto, pet, and life insurance through affiliated insurers and partners. Lemonade also highlighted that Lemonade Car is available in states representing nearly 50% of the U.S. car insurance market, offering Tesla owners 50% off every mile driven using Tesla’s Full Self-Driving technology.
