Stephen Ross-backed Related Ross buys 32 acres for Wellington mixed-use project

Related Ross paid $28.3 million for the site and secured a $29.1 million loan for Village Landing, which will include an 180-room hotel and 300,000-plus square feet of space.

Billionaire Stephen Ross has closed on a land acquisition for a large open-air mixed-use development in Wellington, Florida, part of Palm Beach County’s equestrian community. According to Commercial Observer, Related Ross paid $28.3 million for a 32-acre parcel at 10400 Stribling Way.

The project, called Village Landing, is planned to include an 180-room hotel and more than 300,000 square feet of retail, office, and restaurant space, arranged across six plazas. Related Ross also said the goal is to create a village center that fits Wellington’s character while adding everyday amenities and connectivity for western parts of the county.

Commercial Observer reports that Starwood Property Trust provided a $29.1 million loan linked to the development, and construction is expected to start in the fall. The western portion of the site, about 44 acres, will be converted into a private grade school operated by ElevateED.

The land sale is expected to close in October, and the broader parcel is associated with the Acme Improvement District, controlled by the Village of Wellington. Commercial Observer adds that Village Landing is Related Ross’ first ground-up development outside West Palm Beach since launching in 2024 and that the firm is also pursuing additional office construction in the area.
