Wyoming expands Chainlink Proof of Reserve for FRNT verification
The state says Chainlink Proof of Reserve will provide near real-time, onchain visibility into FRNT reserves backing the frontier stable token.
Wyoming is expanding its use of Chainlink to improve reserve transparency for its official stable token, Frontier Stable Token (FRNT). According to The Block, the Wyoming Stable Token Commission said it has adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve to deliver more continuous, near real-time visibility into the reserves backing FRNT.
Wyoming previously migrated FRNT from LayerZero to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, in August after a security review, and CCIP became FRNT’s exclusive cross-chain infrastructure. The Block also notes that the switch follows a broader migration trend, with $15 billion in onchain value having moved from LayerZero to CCIP.
The commission said it already exceeds the transparency requirements of the GENIUS Act, and that the new verification layer is intended to reduce information gaps. Under the approach, The Network Firm will examine FRNT’s reserves and token supply under AICPA standards, while Chainlink Proof of Reserve will publish verified reserve data onchain in near real time.
In a statement carried by The Block, Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, said adopting Chainlink Proof of Reserve as Wyoming’s exclusive onchain verification infrastructure aims to provide transparent and verifiable confirmation that FRNT is fully backed by high-quality reserve assets. He added that the change is meant to strengthen trust in the public-sector stable token.
