EU and China hold talks on curbing Europe’s trade deficit
The negotiations come ahead of an October deadline tied to producing tangible progress, with Europe’s deficit reportedly running at more than €1 billion per day.
European Union and Chinese officials are holding talks in Beijing focused on curbing Europe’s trade deficit, according to the South China Morning Post.
The talks are set ahead of an October deadline for the EU to show “tangible results” on efforts to reduce a deficit that the outlet described as running at more than €1 billion per day.
Denis Redonnet, the EU’s top trade enforcer, is leading the European delegation for the discussions, the report said.
