Hong Kong opens economic and trade office in Kuala Lumpur
The visit also included Belt and Road memorandums with key institutions in both countries, along with plans for Hong Kong roadshows to help local firms connect to projects.
Hong Kong officials have marked the official opening of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Kuala Lumpur, a move positioned as strengthening Hong Kong’s economic and trade links with Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asian region, according to SCMP Economy.
SCMP Economy reports that during the visit, Hong Kong’s Belt and Road Office held a forum bringing together government officials, business leaders, and professionals for discussions focused on practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The outlet says the Belt and Road Office concluded memorandums with key institutions in both countries, and Hong Kong’s commissioner for Belt and Road said relevant project authorities would be encouraged to conduct roadshows or share information in Hong Kong to help local enterprises connect to opportunities more precisely.
