OILT posts strong returns ahead of move to Texas Stock Exchange
The Texas Capital Texas Oil Index ETF rose 45.2% year to date and will become the first primary listings on the Texas Stock Exchange after relocating.
ETF Trends reports that the Texas Capital Texas Oil Index ETF, OILT, is delivering strong performance tied to oil and gas equities focused on Texas. The fund allocates to energy stocks extracting oil and gas within the state, using the Alerian Texas Weighted Oil and Gas Index.
As of September 2, 2026, OILT posted an 8.25% return over one month, along with a 45.23% year to date gain. The outlet links the fund’s momentum to the importance of oil and gas prices to the broader energy market.
ETF Trends also highlights that Texas Capital has announced OILT, along with the Texas Capital Index ETF (TXS), will move to the Texas Stock Exchange. The funds are set to become the exchange’s first primary listings.
According to ETF Trends, Carlos Peña, head of ETF and funds management at Texas Capital, said the move reflects the funds’ Texas focused investment thesis and brings the products to an exchange headquartered in the state. The outlet notes the listing shift could help drive additional interest in Texas Capital’s ETF lineup.
