The sale of 8 crore shares at ₹206.3 each represented a 2.5% discount to Meesho's previous close of ₹211.6.
Meesho shares came under pressure on Thursday, September 3, after reports that SoftBank offloaded part of its holding in the Indian e-commerce company through a block deal, according to LiveMint Markets.
The transaction covered a 1.7% stake in Meesho, worth ₹1,650.4 crore, with 8 crore shares sold at ₹206.3 apiece. That price was a 2.5% discount to the stock's previous closing price of ₹211.6, and the shares fell 1.3% to the day’s low of ₹208.85 on BSE after a positive opening.
Earlier reporting indicated SoftBank was looking to sell a smaller 1.5% stake valued at around ₹1,435 crore, but the final deal was larger. BofA Securities India and J.P. Morgan India managed the proposed stake sale.
