BitMEX co-founder gave most of Reform UK’s Q2 2026 crypto-linked funds
Electoral Commission records show the Reform UK party received about 3 million pounds from Ben Delo in April, making up roughly 74% of its reported Q2 2026 intake.
Cointelegraph reports that records from the UK Electoral Commission show Reform UK received about 7.3 million pounds in Q2 2026, with most of that money coming from BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo, a figure tied to the crypto industry.
According to the filing, Delo made two separate donations to Reform UK of 1 million and 3 million pounds in April, which Cointelegraph says equates to about $1.3 million and $4 million. Delo’s contributions accounted for about 74% of all funds reported by the party for the quarter.
Cointelegraph also notes that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage is under investigation after receiving millions of dollars in donations and gifts connected to other crypto-linked figures, Christopher Harborne and George Cottrell. Farage resigned as an MP in July amid the crypto scandal, triggering a by-election that he won with 63% of the vote.
The article adds that Delo previously pleaded guilty in US federal proceedings tied to alleged Bank Secrecy Act violations, and he agreed to pay a $10 million fine in 2022 without serving prison time. Cointelegraph further says Delo and other BitMEX co-founders were pardoned by US President Donald Trump in March 2025.
