Moonshot AI confidentially files for Hong Kong IPO
The company is targeting a Hong Kong listing as early as the first quarter of 2027, subject to approvals and market conditions.
Chinese artificial intelligence startup Moonshot AI, developer of the Kimi K3 model, has confidentially filed for an initial public offering in Hong Kong, according to two people with knowledge of the matter cited by the South China Morning Post.
The Beijing-based company is aiming for a Hong Kong listing as early as the first quarter of 2027, though the timing depends on regulatory approvals and market conditions, the sources said.
Moonshot said in a response to a query from SCMP that it does not comment on market rumours or speculation.
The filing comes after Moonshot drew attention in July with the release of Kimi K3, which SCMP describes as the world’s largest open-weight AI model, with more than 2.8 trillion parameters.
