CN logs 2.50 million tonnes of grain in August
The monthly total surpassed CN's prior August record of 2.34 million tonnes set in 2020, signaling a strong start to the 2026 to 2027 crop year.
Canadian National Railway (CN) set a new monthly record for grain movement across its network in August, transporting 2.50 million tonnes of grain from Western Canada.
CN said the result exceeded the previous August record of 2.34 million tonnes set in 2020 and marked a strong start to the 2026 to 2027 crop year as the harvest progresses.
CN attributed the performance to strong customer demand, collaboration with grain supply chain partners, and consistent execution of its operating plan.
In other related agricultural processing activity, Green Acres Milling is set to begin operating an oat mill with production capacity of 39,420 tonnes per year, according to World Grain.
